In a significant milestone for the local community, Iltizam Relief Society, in collaboration with ISRC, has successfully completed the construction of its first deep well in Trincomalee. This project is designed to provide much-needed access to clean water for 10 to 15 families who have long struggled with unreliable and unsafe water sources.

Addressing the Need for Clean Water

Trincomalee society has also been grappling with a serious challenge ,such as the scarcity of clean water. In rural areas, where water infrastructure is often inadequate, many families have had to rely on contaminated water sources. This has led to numerous health problems, particularly waterborne diseases, which have a significant impact on the community’s well-being.

Recognizing this critical issue, Iltizam Relief Society, with the support of ISRC, initiated the construction of a deep well equipped with a comprehensive water supply system. The goal was simple but profound: to ensure that these families have access to a steady supply of clean, safe water for their daily needs.

Transformational Impact on the Community

The deep well project has brought significant positive changes to the community in Trincomalee. With easy access to clean water, the risk of waterborne diseases has decreased, overall health has improved, and the time and energy previously spent fetching water can now be saved.
