On August 26, a devastating flash flood struck communities in northern Nepal after a sudden glacier collapse sent a massive surge of water, ice, rock and mud through the Bhote Koshi and surrounding river systems.
The destruction has been catastrophic.
389 people have been confirmed dead.
977 people remain missing or unaccounted for.
Hundreds more have been injured or rescued.
(Figures are based on the latest available reports from Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) and Nepal Police)

Entire communities have been swept away. Roads and bridges have been destroyed, cutting off families from essential assistance. Rescue teams continue searching for survivors while affected communities urgently need food, clean water, emergency shelter and basic relief supplies.
