A hundred families have received vital food baskets from the Iltizam Relief Society. These beneficiaries, predominantly elderly, are facing challenging times due to the prolonged rainy season.
Besides that, this weather pattern is expected to persist until the year-end, limiting their ability to generate income for their daily needs.
Moreover, in the heartland of Cambodia, where livelihoods depend on small-scale farming, local businesses, and river fishing, the rainy season brings significant challenges.
In addition, each food basket comprises essential items including 10 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of sugar, 1 kilogram of cooking oil, 1 kilogram of cooking flour, 1 kilogram of dried snakehead fish, and 400 grams of canned sardines (4 cans). These provisions are projected to sustain a household of five for two weeks.
The Iltizam Relief Society takes action, recognizing the unique challenges posed by Cambodia’s rainy season. They swiftly address these challenges, making a significant impact on the communities they serve.
