Fuel Empowers Water, Sustaining Life

Fuel plays a crucial role in addressing the pressing water crisis in Gaza, worsened by an Israeli cutoff and 96% of water deemed unfit. Shortages in mid-October shut down vital facilities, intensifying the public health crisis.

Iltizam Relief Society is providing fuel for the North Gaza well generator to restore clean water access, essential for mitigating disease spread. Ongoing support is crucial in ensuring access to clean water for all.

Moreover, healthcare facilities require clean water; however, damaged systems and limited cleaning supplies have rendered basic infection control nearly impossible, increasing the risk of bacterial infections, especially in children under five.

Furthermore, Human Rights Watch warned that the lack of drinking water in Gaza is a life-and-death matter. Residents, amidst power outages and water shortages, are forced to drink untreated well water, contributing to the spread of infectious diseases.

Before the 100-day-long Israeli actions, the densely populated Gaza Strip experienced a severe crisis in clean drinking water. Moreover, over 90% of its 2.3 million people were struggling in an economic environment.

Therefore, recognizing the urgency, Iltizam Relief Society has initiated providing fuel to restore water supply in North Gaza through the well generator, ensuring clean water access.
